On Wednesday, 26th November 2025, the members of the Evergreen Remembrance Conclave gathered in Hampton in Arden for their annual Installation meeting, a significant event in the Conclave’s calendar. This year’s meeting was particularly noteworthy as Wy. Bro Geoffrey Lates, Past Deputy Grand Standard Bearer, was due to be installed as the new Supreme Ruler of the Conclave. Presiding over the ceremony was Wy. Bro John Roberts, the outgoing Supreme Ruler, who conducted the installation proceedings with the dignity and solemnity befitting the occasion.

The meeting was further distinguished by the impressive attendance of several Grand Officers and officers from the Provincial Grand Conclave of Warwickshire. Among them was the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, R. Wy. Bro Dennis Freshwater, who was accompanied by the Deputy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, V. Wy Bro Neil Watkin, Past Grand Visitor and Presiding Officer, the Provincial Grand Visitor, and the Commander and members of the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler’s Arch of Steel. Their presence not only lent additional significance to the proceedings but also reflected the esteem in which the Evergreen Remembrance Conclave and its members are held within the Province.

Following the formal installation of Wy. Bro Geoffrey Lates as Supreme Ruler, his first official duty was to appoint and invest the Conclave’s officers for the forthcoming year. These appointments, covering both degrees, are crucial for the smooth running and future success of the Conclave. Once the officers were invested and the remaining items of business were efficiently completed, the Conclave was duly closed in accordance with the established traditions of the Order.

The day’s events concluded on a convivial note, as brethren and visitors retired to the nearby Haigs Hotel to enjoy a festive board together. The camaraderie and good cheer were palpable, with many choosing to partake in the “Festive Menu,” a nod to the approaching holiday season. This provided an excellent opportunity for members and guests to reflect on the day’s proceedings, renew old friendships, and look forward to the year ahead under the guidance of their newly installed Supreme Ruler.
