On Wednesday, June 3rd, the members of Sutton Coldfield Conclave No. 228 gathered for their regular meeting. It was a well-attended event, bringing together local members, distinguished guests, and regional leaders.

The head of the Conclave, Supreme Ruler Wy. Bro David Evans, alongside his officers and guests, gave a warm welcome to an honoured guest: Grand Visitor V. Wy. Bro Dr Silverio Ostrowski.

The Conclave is also proud to count two top regional leaders among its own members:

    • Wy. Bro Neil Watkin (Deputy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler)

A strong delegation of Grand Officers and Provincial Grand Officers from Warwickshire also attended to show their support.

Because the Conclave had recently initiated two new members and advanced them to the rank of “Princes of the Order,” there was no live initiation planned for the night.

Instead, the members used the opportunity to sharpen their skills. They performed a demonstration of the Ceremony of Admission of a Prince. This allowed everyone to appreciate the ritual and gave the officers a chance to showcase their teamwork and dedication to the Order’s traditions.

After the formal meeting concluded, everyone moved to the dining hall for the traditional festive board, enjoying good food and fellowship.

During the toasts, the Grand Visitor, V. Wy. Bro Dr Silverio Ostrowski, shared some heartfelt words. He noted that although this was his very first visit to the Sutton Coldfield Conclave, he instantly felt right at home. He explained that he already knew many of the people in the room—some for many years. He highlighted that this sense of immediate, lifelong friendship is truly one of the most beautiful aspects of the Order.

This meeting marked one of the final milestones for the current leadership. Wy. Bro David Evans is now nearing the end of his successful year as Supreme Ruler. The Conclave is now looking forward to September, when he is expected to officially hand over the reins and install his successor.
